Kärcher K2 Power Control Review

We bought the K2 Power Control, unboxed it, put it together and tested it extensively. We paid particular attention to these points:
- Is the device easy to assemble?
- How easily can it be moved and transported?
- How does the general quality feel?
- How easy is it to set up the device?
- How quickly and reliably can stubborn dirt be removed?
- Is it comfortable to work with?

In the box
The assembly is very easy. Attach the wheels, the telescopic handle and the carrying handle (no screws needed). Finally, screw on the quick coupling for the hose, which takes one minute.

How we tested it
We tested the K2 Power Control in front of a garage and cleaned dirty paving stones, manhole covers, and the driveway.
Preparing the device is fast and easy. Connect the pressure hose and garden hose, plug in the power cable, turn on the water, switch on the device and off you go. The only annoying things about the K2 Power Control are the clamps for connecting the pressure hose, especially because the one on the gun is a bit of a pain to open.
At only 4.8 kg, the device is very light and can be carried by anyone. The K2 Power Control also has wheels and a telescopic handle. However, you don’t need them. Nevertheless, the telescopic handle is practical, as you can use it to roll up the power cable.
The cleaning process is easy. Just loosen the safety bolt and pull the lever, and the jet shoots out of the lance. This is a Vario model, which means that the pressure levels can be adjusted. It offers four different levels: Hard, Medium, Soft, as well as Mix for cleaning with a detergent.
However, stubborn dirt can only be removed using the Hard level. The other levels are good for rinsing away residues or cleaning delicate objects, e.g. bicycles and glass. However, the water pressure is rather low.
The Dirt Blaster lance is ingenious. Thanks to a rotating nozzle with an ultra-thin jet, even very stubborn dirt residues can be removed quickly.

Cons
- The clamps connecting the pressure hose to the device and the gun are of poor quality. They’re made of plastic and are difficult to move, especially when wet.
- The overall build quality could be better.
Should you buy the Kärcher K2 Power Control?
If you have a limited budget and are looking for a fairly versatile high-pressure cleaner to clean smaller areas with garden slabs, paving stones, asphalt, bicycles, garden tools and the like, the K2 Power Control is recommended.

You can either buy the K2 Power Control with or without the home kit. The home kit version comes with the T150 surface cleaner and a detergent bottle for patios and decks.
