Kärcher K2 Compact Review

We’ve bought the K2 Power Control, unboxed it, put it together and tested it extensively. We paid particular attention to these points:
- Is the device easy to assemble?
- How easily can it be moved and transported?
- How does the general quality feel?
- How easy is it to set up the device?
- How quickly and reliably can stubborn dirt be removed?
- Is it comfortable to work with?

In the box

(Equipped with a rotating nozzle for removing very stubborn dirt) - One-way spray lance

The K2 Compact comes fully assembled. All you have to do is screw on the water connection coupling.

How we tested
We tested the K2 Compact on the terrace of a flat. We set up the device and cleaned dirty stone slabs. The area to be cleaned was about 9 m2 (96 square feet)
How to use the Kärcher K2 Power Control
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Cleans smaller surfaces easily and cleanly
- Quick and easy set up
- The cleaning process is very easy and hassle-free
- The Kärcher K2 Compact is very light and can be carried, lifted and stowed anywhere by anyone
- It is very cheap, you can often buy it for less than £100.
Cons
- The power cable and pressure hose must be stored in the same place. This makes rolling up and unrolling tedious
- The storage space for the hose and the cable is too small
- There is no storage space for the trigger gun
- The clamps for connecting the pressure hose to the device and to the gun are of poor quality. They’re made of plastic and difficult to move, especially when wet
- The overall build-quality could be better
Should you buy the Kärcher K2 Power Control?
For people with a limited budget who do not use the device often and only want to clean smaller areas, the K2 Compact is well suited.
The comfort is low and the build quality is not particularly good, but it cleans surprisingly well. Even stubborn moss stains can be removed very quickly with the Dirt Blaster as you can see in the pictures below.

If you want a little more comfort, the K2 Power Control is an alternative. The same cleaning power, but some additional features that make your life easier.
If you want to use the device more often and want to clean bigger objects, e.g. your car, then the Kärcher K4 models are much more suitable.
