Worx Hydroshot Review
Published By - 29th September 2022
We’ve bought the Worx Hydroshot WG 630 E, unboxed it, put it together and tested it extensively. We paid particular attention to these points:
- Is the device easy to assemble?
- How easily can it be moved and transported?
- How does the general quality feel?
- How easy is it to set up the device?
- How quickly and reliably can stubborn dirt be removed?
- Is it comfortable to work with?
In this review we will show you our experiences using the product.
Worx Hydroshot Ranges
WG 620 E
This version has a brushed motor. This means that it is slightly weaker than the WG 630 E and it lasts a shorter time. Also, the motor is single speed. Other than that, there is no difference. The scope of delivery, on the other hand, is very different. Here you have to look carefully when buying:
Hydroshot, bare (tool only, no batteries included, no attachments)
Full Kit, Fast charger WA3867 (water hose, water bucket, multiple nozzles, bottle adaptor, charger, lance, battery, washing brush, soap bottle)
Full Kit, 2 batteries (charger, hose, lance, 2 batteries, soap bottle, multiple nozzles, washing brush, water bucket, bottle adaptor)
WG 630 E
This version comes with a brushless motor and thus offers a little more power than the WG 620 E. It also has a two-speed motor. Different packages are also sold with different scopes of delivery:
Bare (no battery included)
Hydroshot brushless (Water Hose, battery fast-charger, lance, battery)

Our testing experience
We used the device to clean the bow of a small catamaran at a lake. Water sports equipment is a typical cleaning object and ideal for cordless medium pressure cleaners.
For this job, we worked with the WG630E. It is super-easy to set up. Attach the lance to the trigger gun using the swivel mechanism, then attach the suction hose to the gun and insert the battery. Finally place the hose in the water source, in our case a lake, and off you go. All this takes no more than a minute. The Worx is very well built, every part fits exactly and the mechanisms work perfectly.
Open the safety bolt, pull the trigger and after a short time the water shoots through the nozzle. There are five different nozzle settings: 0 degrees, 15°, 25°, 40° and a shower. You can adjust them manually by turning the nozzle head.
However, you can only clean larger surfaces properly with the 15° setting. With the 0° nozzle, which is a very thin, powerful jet, you can remove single stains, but it is not suitable for larger objects. The other pressure levels are not much more than the pressure of a tap.
And this is how it looks
Cleaning with the WG 630 E is comfortable, the device is light and has a fairly long lance, which makes it easy to work with. It is a little noisy, but outdoors in nature that doesn’t really matter.
For heavier dirt, you can also spray on a cleaning agent. To do this, you have to put the supplied suction hose into a conventional PETbottle, which can then be screwed on. However, it empties very quickly, so it’s not very convenient because you have to keep refilling it when cleaning larger objects.
As you can see in the video, the worst dirt can be removed, but it doesn’t really get sparkling clean. With the 4-Ah battery, you can work for about 25 minutes, which was enough to clean the whole bow in our test. This would not have been possible with the smaller 2-Ah battery.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Very easy to set up
- Good build quality
- Long lance for comfortable cleaning
- Largest battery selection of all wireless pressure washers
- You can use the batteries for all Worx cordless tools
Cons
- A bit loud
- The full kit models are not the cheapest, especially the WG630E full kit
Should you buy the Worx Hydroshot WG630E?
At the bottom line, the Worx hydroshot WG630E is the best cordless pressure washer without a tank. It has at least the same built quality and cleans as well as any other portable jet washer. But there are two reasons that make it stand out: Thanks to the long lance it is much more comfortable to clean and there is a large battery selection.
This means that you can not only buy the original batteries from Worx, but there are also some third-party suppliers. In addition, you can choose between different sizes, from 2.0 Ah to 5.0 Ah at reasonable prices. No other supplier offers this choice.
We recommend buying the device with the larger Ah4 battery. This allows you to work for twice as long (approx. 25 min) as with the 2.0 Ah standard battery.
The list price is not the most expensive but still rather high. There are cheaper solutions, but we believe it’s worth it.
If you have a limited budget you could also go for the WG620E, which costs less and offers the same comfort. But keep in mind that it does not have the same pressure power and thus takes longer to clean. Because the battery run time is limited this can be a problem.
