Kärcher OC 3 review

Published By -

We’ve bought the Kärcher OC 3, unboxed it, put it together and tested it extensively. We paid particular attention to these points:

  • Is the device easy to assemble?
  • How easily can it be moved and transported?
  • How does the general quality feel?
  • How easy is it to set up the device?
  • How quickly and reliably can stubborn dirt be removed?
  • Is it comfortable to work with?

In this review we will share our experiences.

Kärcher OC3 ranges, accessories

The Kärcher OC3 comes in two different models, the OC3 (4-litres water tank) and the OC3 Plus (7-litres water tank). Obviously, the only difference is the capacity of the water tank.

Additionally, you can buy a car adaptor, an adventure box (with a suction hose and a universal brush), a bike accessory box (detergent spray bottle, microfibre cloth, universal brush) and the pet accessory box (fur cleaning brush, pet towel, cone jet spray nozzle). »Here you can find more information about the OC3 accessories.

Our testing experience

We tested the OC3 with the smaller 4-litre tank without any of the special accessories.

The unit is built to a high standard and the few individual parts can be attached without any problems. The battery is built into the basic unit and cannot be removed.

The set-up is very simple:

Fill up the water tank, place the nozzle on the trigger gun, press the start button and off you go.

The device is nothing like a regular pressure washer, but it can easily and quickly clean heavily soiled boots, dogs or outdoor equipment of all kinds so your car or your tent does not get dirty.

The 4-litre tank runs out very quickly, so if you have a large family, or several dogs, bikes etc., you had better buy the OC3 Plus with the 7-litre tank.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • The device is small and light. This makes it easy to carry and it easily fits in any car boot
  • The set-up is super easy and fast
  • The cleaning is comfortable and straightforward
  • All parts can be conveniently stored in the unit

Cons

  • The battery cannot be removed. This means that when it is used up, you have to buy a new device.
  • The 4-litre tank runs out pretty quickly
  • The number of application areas is very limited
  • It is relatively expensive

Should you buy the Kärcher OC3?

The device is basically a kind of mobile water tap. It is only suitable for one purpose: Washing off the worst dirt from boots, shoes, dogs and outdoor sports equipment so that your car interior or your tent doesn’t get soiled.

If you are only looking for this kind of device, then the OC3 is for you.

In our opinion, the additional accessories (Adventure, Bike, Pet) are too expensive (If you need a brush, microfibre cloth or detergent bottle, it’s better to buy it separately, it’s way cheaper). Only the car adaptor may make sense under certain circumstances (e.g. if you have forgotten to charge the battery).
