Bosch Fontus Review

Bosch Fontus cordless pressure washer with tank

We’ve bought the Yard Force Aquajet, unboxed it, put it together and tested it extensively. We paid particular attention to these points:

  • Is the device easy to assemble?
  • How easily can it be moved and transported?
  • How does the general quality feel?
  • How easy is it to set up the device?
  • How quickly and reliably can stubborn dirt be removed?
  • Is it comfortable to work with?

In this review we will share our experiences using the product.

In the Box

  • Unit with 15 l water tank
  • Hose
  • Spray gun
  • Battery
  • Battery charger
  • Brush
  • Manual

Our test experience

The appliance makes a high-quality impression and the design is very well thought-out. Despite the large tank (15-litre capacity), it looks compact.
It is quite heavy, especially when the water tank is full. However, thanks to the practical telescopic handle and the wheels, the Fontus can be moved without any problems. As soon as the unit needs to be carried, which is quite common in a garden, it becomes more difficult.

The spray gun and brush can be conveniently stored in a compartment at the front.

To start the unit, water must first be filled into the tank. Thanks to the filter, no unwanted debris gets in.
Then connect the pressure hose to the unit and the spray gun using the twist lock. Finally, the battery has to be inserted into a compartment at the bottom of the rear panel. The Bosch Fontus is now ready for use.

For cleaning vehicles such as cars or bicycles, it is preferable to place the practical brush on the spray gun. This is very easy and helps to remove the worst dirt faster and more thoroughly.

The water pressure can be adjusted in three stages. In addition, there are a total of four spray patterns: Two very thin, extremely powerful water jets, a flat, wide variant and a fluffy hand spray with little pressure.

An entire car or two bicycles can easily be thoroughly cleaned with one water tank filling and one full battery charge.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • User friendly
  • Quick and very easy set-up
  • All parts plus accessories can be stored in the unit
  • Long battery run time
  • Good build-quality
  • You can use the same battery for all Bosch cordless garden tools

Cons

  • With a full tank, it’s very heavy
  • Not suitable for cleaning larger areas with very stubborn dirt like moss stains etc.
  • The device is quite expensive

Should you buy the Bosch Fontus?

If you regularly want to clean your car or your bicycles thoroughly and have neither access to running water nor a power connection, then the Bosch Fontus is clearly the best solution. In this case, it’s a clear buy.

However, the Bosch Fontus is not suitable as a replacement for a conventional pressure washer for cleaning patios, driveways and the like. For these tasks, the handling is too complicated and the water pressure is too soft.
